| I have been in Idaho for almost a whole week new. Its werid to be in the same place but eveyrthing around you to be completly different. I moved off campus this semster and I am loving the new found freedom. I never realized how truely stricts the dorms were until I know what its like to have freedom again. We had a boy in our room past 12:00, which is technically still against the rules but we didn't gte Q'd like we would have in the dorms. Everything is covered in snow which is nice, I like it when it snows because that is a lot easier to walk on than two inches of ice. I amazed that I have not slipt and broken my neck yet. I like my new roommates. I am living with a few girls from sugar land. There has been more drama in the past five days though then I had to deal with in all of high school. However , my other roommates are older and love me, they same I am mature(lol, they don't know me well enough yet).Oh well,I hope everyone travels to school safely and had a great break. P.S. I love how Vicki Chang still posts and will until she dies! :) | | |
| I finally cancelled my MySpace! I am finally back on my gym schedule after being sick. (6 AM baby!) I finally got all my christmas cards sent out to you guys.I know they are dorky, but who doesn't like mail! I am finally freezing my butt off in the Idaho Blizzards of snow. I am finally going back to Math class( which is pointless because I sit there and make lists or write notes anyway) I am finally getting more than 5 or 6 hours of sleep. I finally met my EC(future husband),maybe I should introduce myself to this kid, I hope hes not marrided!( He looks like Elijah Wood and is and LDS Theatre Major, it was fate!) I FINALLY got a new camera( no more long waits and it likes everyone!) I finally got around to reading The Chronicles of Narnia. I am finally starting to pack and leaving in 7 days! Remember if you want to get together over the break to call me , beep me if you want to reach me. I'll be working for some crazy reason and I am only home for 12 days so I want to see everyone that I can because I have missed you all so much!

| I just wanted to drop in and say hello. I flew into Idaho last Thursday. It was one of the longest days of my life. I had about 3 layovers and one flight change from Houston to Salt Lake City. From there I took a Trail way to Brigham Young University-Idaho. On the plane I met a guy from the Friendswood and he became my traveling buddy for the day .I love being able to see mountains around me. The walking uphill over campus isn't exactly my favorite part of the campus but its all worth it. The campus is so pretty, we have so many peaceful gardens and just spots that make me excited to sit down and read. My room mates got here the next day.One of them is from Thailand and she is Buddhist, which personally I was not expecting. She is so sweet and I am so glad that Pach is here. My bedroom roommate is Susie, she is from Provo, UT and is so great! The dorm houses 6 girls and one bathroom which has already been an interesting situation. My other dorm mates are from Washington, California and Texas.I am so excited about spending this semester with them! So far since I have been to Idaho I have seen such a climate change. The first night that I was here it was about 42 degrees. That is like our houston winters. Right now its about 50 degrees in the morning and in the afternoon it will reach about 80ish.I hope that the weather doesn't drastically change soon. I am not ready for the harsh winter. Since I have been here I have been involved in Orientation basically. Lots of getting to know you games and talks from the University President Kim Clark. Saturday night there was an Extravaganza night around campus. It reminded me a lot of our high school's Pro-Grad. Me and Eryn , one of my dorm mates waited 1.5 hours to ride a ride that took us around and upside down, but we kept telling ourselves that it was worth it.We also played with the Macs that were up for us to take fun pictures. My ward in church is pretty large. We have a lot more Return Missionaries than I thought we would have, I keep my fingers crossed that as they pass out callings I will be not be called as a teacher in church. Monday me and another room mate Marni decided to pick up job applications and walk to Wal-Mart.The 20 minute walk turned into about an hour and a half walk! We got to explore Rexburg from a different view.I didn't realize I could get so mixed up in such a little town. I did go to D.I which is a REAL thrift store( for the first time) and had fun trying on some real ridiculous outfits. In the town we have several restaurants, two grocery stores, three movie theaters, and lots of apartments.Surrounding the town are lots of outdoor activities like hiking ,swimming and tubing. I hope to be able to do some of that while I am up here. Yesterday I officially started my classes. I am only taking 5 classes at a time but two are block classes and I will be switching them half way through the semester.I am really looking forward to classes. The unusual part of this experience is how I am in class with married kids. Like people will introduce themselves and tell how long they have been married or when they are getting married. In my business class I am like one of about 5 single girls in the class. I do like seeing all the couples walking around holding hands though. It is just so adorable. I do enjoy the atmosphere here, all the guys get the doors and everyone smiles at one another. So I technically went on my first blind date yesterday. My friend got asked out and needed someone to come with her and so I was the guys roommates buddy for the night. We went bowling where I fell on the floor as I tossed the ball. After we ate we went and walked around campus and explored everything. I came up with this plan to meet new people, me and eryn will sit in our courtyard with a bowl of popcorn offering it to people as they walk by.*great way to meet guys! They plop themselves next to you and then your all set. We also try to find people who eat alone in The Galley (the cafeteria) and befriend them. I have no idea how people gain that freshman 15, I do so much walking here. I do however eat the most out of my room mates and I am always hungry now. I am so sorry that this is so long, I just wanted to let people know that I am ok and send pictures of some sites up here. Some are of the campus, my room and the view.I can't figure out how to label them all on here unfortunately. I hope everyone is doing great and I hope to hear from you . This is from the orientation games. Eryn | | |
| My Parents went out of town for a week and a half leaving me to fend for myself.I had never been left alone before, and I was utterly excited at my new found freedom. I realized that I AM going to gain the freshman 15, because I eat nothing but junk food.Which is why for the past month when I go to give blood they tell me my Iron is to low.Anyway, while my family had abandoned me for Utah and the grand canyon I had a lot of firsts.
-Midnight madness runs at Wal-Mart for junk food
-I waxed my legs, which turned out to be a nightmare as the wax got all over me and my bathroom. Last time I take a tip from Laura.
-I went clubbing out with some friends and got to see first hand how stupid drunk people act.
-I cut my hair , shorter than I wanted as always, but I also DYED IT! Unfortunately in fear of destroying myself, we chose a closer too close to my own color and it looks the same. My parents can tell and they cant figure out why I would go darker, and I can tell my hair looks weird to me.
During the course of my freedom I had sleepovers with many people so that I would not be lonely.Me and Laura ate a whole cake, Me and Shani tried Orangeade, pizza and donuts, needless to say I ate a lot.
- I survived my first TAX FREE WEEKEND , that was busy, but they had ten of us working at once so it turned out to be like a normal weekend.
- I had my first juggling lesson from Mark.
So for me and Chris's Anniversary he decided to surprise me.So I thought I would surprise him back.
My surprise was on Thursday and I told him to meet me at the park at 6:10 in the morning. I figured we could watch the sunrise and I can give him the breakfast I made him. long story ,but I know he loves chocolate chip pancakes and I said I would consider making him them sometime. So I got up at 5:45 am after going to bed at 3:30 and tried to hurry, unfortunately he got there and I spent like 20 minutes on the phone with him while trying to finish it all. Well I missed the sunrise and we sat in my car until another car pulled up next to us and gave us dirty looks.SO my surprise wasn't that great , plus Chris got his first look at the girl without sleep or makeup, I was like delusional.
HIS SURPRISE, we left ten minutes after me and my family got home.So I said hello and basically walked out the door. It weird being in a car and having no idea where you are headed. First he took me to see Talegada Nights, which was funny, defiantly a guy movie though. Then he took me to Bennijannas , because I had never been there before. The food was really good and I decided I do not really like Calamari though. After that there was one more piece of the surprise , we were meeting two other couples . I managed to ruin the surprise when I asked why everyone was wearing tennis shoes, then one of the girls on accident spilt the beans that we were going go-karting!So we went go-karting and these babies went fast, I was going out of control. I however did not come in last place. I was 8th of 9, so its ok.After all that and I rescued us again from being lost we went to Eric's house for a movie. It was a SPECTACULAR DATE.
So it hit me that I leave in 16 days, which is just sooner than I expected, I guess I thought because I was leaving so much later then everyone else that it was so far away. Well its not and I started to panic, because I am no where near ready to leave. I have so many things to do and people to say good-bye to, and people I don't want to say good bye to.I guess I better take advantage of my days left. So if anyone isn't busy give me a call and we will do something!
